Gurnard

Beautiful, delicious, cheap and sustainable! In British waters there are three types of gurnard: red, grey and tub (similar to red but bigger and rarer). We sell red gurnard and they are typically around 500g each. £8 per kilo. Flesh is tight and meaty, great for soups and stews. Season: avoid spring and early summer (spawning).
